Defining the High Tide

Tides that have more than 7 feet of water movement from
Low to High Tides
(Flood, incoming, Tide)
Timothy Kusherets
The standard high tide is between twelve and seven feet of water volume.
These are the most predictable tides to watch as they transport salmon
inland to natal estuaries, streams, and rivers. High tides during inland
migration can be seen almost exclusively during the daylight hours making
them convenient to recon. As the season progresses so too do high tides
into the evening hours. It is possible to hook into fish during anytime
of the day and that also includes fishing at night. Remember, tides
change by fifty minutes every single day and eventually that means some
of the best times to fish is going to be in the dead of night where
fish can be hooked into with greedily hard strikes.
