Talk about cheap...Corkies cost 10 to 15 cents, for that amount you could
buy a horde of them and not dent your pocket book. They come in a wide array
of colors, sizes, and designs which work in any kind of water condition or clarity...from
flooded and zero visibility to low and clear with unlimited visibility.
They simulate Salmon and Trout eggs. They can be cast far, last
a long time, and you can add any scent you need for each species of fish. Corkies
offer the best alternative to baits that only last a few casts. If you want
to catch fish “all” the time you need to get these and fish with
them everywhere you go.
So long as there is current in the water, corkies work anywhere fish are found,
and it doesn’t even matter if the aquatic environment is fresh or saltwater;
fish love them and anglers do worse without them.
One of the greatest thing about corkies is you can match them to the eggs of
any species of fish, and if you like to fish at night you can get “Glow-ball”
corkies, which work every bit as good at night as they do in the daytime.
Even bait casting fishermen will tell you that corkies offer the best alternative
to baits, and the fact that they last so long saves an enormous amount of money
over the course of each season.
Below is a complete list of sizes. I've placed three asterisks next to size ten;
which is the very best all-around size to use anytime of the year, and a personal
favorite. When ordering corkies you can identify each by fractions of an inch or by the
number on the left side of the equal sign, which are most commonly referred sizes.
Corky (Also Known as Corkie & Corkies) Sizes:
# 14 = 1/4 inch
# 12 = 5/16 inch
# 10 = 3/8 inch ***
# 8 = 1/2 inch
# 6 = 5/8 inch
# 4 = 3/4 inch
