Fishing Otters
Otters in the water will put any holding fish off the bite
for as long as they’re in the area

Otters are very cute to watch and photograph. Otters are also
very bad for fishing whether it’s in fresh or saltwater environments since
they tend to spook all holding fish to the bed or out to sea. They’re
not an endangered species but they should be respected in that if they’re
in the fishing hole you “wanted” to fish, remember, if it were another
fisherman you’d respect that the reach was occupied and move to another
area and otters should be handled in the exact same manner; besides, they’ll
put any holding fish off the bite for as long as they’re in the area.
There is another aspect of otters that most don’t know about. These mammals
become fearless of humans over time and get large enough to attack if threatened,
so avoid all problems and focus on fishing, especially where they’re on
the bite and away from these pesky critters. Each of these two bandits weigh
between fifty and sixty-pounds. These two guys didn’t bother me, rather,
I looked upon them as an added perk while being in the wild.
